Your HP Smart Tank shows ready, but pages never come out. Usually the job is stuck on the computer, the wrong printer is selected, WiFi dropped, or ink never finished initializing after a refill.
1. Clear the print queue
Windows: Settings → Printers → your Smart Tank → Open queue → cancel all jobs. If jobs will not cancel, restart Print Spooler — see spooler fix.
Mac: System Settings → Printers & Scanners → Open Print Queue → delete pending jobs.
2. Confirm the default printer
Windows often keeps "Microsoft Print to PDF" or an old Smart Tank duplicate as default. Set the active HP Smart Tank as default and try again.
3. Print a test page from the printer
Use the panel or HP Smart to print a configuration or nozzle check. If that works, the problem is on the PC. If it fails, focus on ink, paper, or an error on the display.
4. Check ink and paper
- Confirm tanks have ink above the minimum line and caps are closed
- After a refill, wait for priming to finish before sending jobs
- Load paper below the fill line; match size in the driver
5. Fix connection or reinstall
Reseat USB, or re-add the wireless printer with its current IP. Full reinstall steps are in Smart Tank driver download. For blank output, see blank or faded pages.
