The HP LaserJet Pro M234 family (dw, dn, nw, sdw) shares toner and the Windows driver. Suffix URLs redirect here. Wireless is not on every SKU.
- dw — duplex + WiFi (and usually Ethernet)
- dn — duplex + Ethernet, no WiFi. Do not run a wireless wizard
- nw — WiFi + network; check the door for duplex
- sdw — scan + duplex + WiFi (all-in-one). Scan needs the full software, not Windows IPP
Driver
M234 Full Feature or HP UPD from support.hp.com. Windows 11’s basic driver prints and then scan (sdw) or duplex fails. Prefer USB for first install, then add by IP from the config page.
Discovery empty: Easy Start cannot find printer.
Ethernet and WiFi
No link light on dn/dw: auto crossover. WiFi suffixes: 2.4 GHz, WPA2. Invalid WPA passphrase, WiFi not connecting.
Paper path
Pickup errors: pick motor stalled. Jams: jam guide. Toner is HP 85A / 85X on this generation — confirm on the cartridge.
