HP Envy 5000, 5010, and 5020 — WiFi Setup

HP Envy 5000, 5010, and 5020 are the same small home inkjet family. 5010 and 5020 setup URLs redirect here. Use HP Smart or the Envy 5000-series software — not a LaserJet driver.

WiFi

  1. 2.4 GHz SSID, printer in wireless setup (blinking)
  2. HP Smart on the same network, or Wireless Setup on the panel then add by IP
  3. Discovery fail: cannot find printer
  4. Password fail: invalid WPA passphrase

HP WiFi not connecting for router isolation and guest networks.

USB

Data cable, HP Smart for scan. First ink init can show maintenance in progress — wait, do not unplug.

Ink

Read the door label (often HP 65 / 65XL in the US). Wrong region cartridge “not recognized”: cartridge not recognized.
