Power drain: turn the printer off, unplug 60 seconds, plug in, wait until idle
Same for the PC USB path: unplug USB, wait, use a different port. For WiFi, print a config page and ping the IP
Clear the queue and restart Print Spooler
Event Viewer: Windows Logs → Application. Filter on HP / Print. If 74899 repeats every few minutes with the printer off, uninstall leftover HP background apps
Firmware: from HP Support for your exact model, preferably over USB so the update cannot drop WiFi mid-flash
